Bertino Originals

Overview
Bertino Originals was a California stock company engaged in the manufacture of decorative glass objects for the home.

Narrative
According to Bizapedia, Bertino Originals filed for incorporation in California on December 4, 1967, and was suspended on February 1, 1972. It made glass decorative objects for the home, such as vases, boxes, cups, covered bowls, and similar items. This list may not be exhaustive insofar as very little information is available about the company.

The owners of the firm appear to have been Albert Garfield and Fred Lewis though the latter dropped from it early. Glass labels have also been seen with Bertino Originals, Chicago 60621, indicating that the firm also operated in Illinois, though dates are unknown. One vendor offered a candle in a jar made by Chicago Candle Company Bertino Originals, further substantiating that the company operated in Illinois. The dating of the Chicago wares appears to be 1970s.

Some of its labels state that its items were hand made in California, while most extant labels say nothing about California. The items are typically single color bubble glass with gilded metal - perhpas lead - filling the crevaces between bubbles which were most likely applied to the surface of ordinary glass.
